Nest mini at uni

Colin007
Community Member

Hi, I've just started uni. I'm trying to connect my nest mini to their WiFi. I've registered the devices mac address on my uni account but it still says unable to connect. It worked perfect at home and there's no issues with the WiFi at uni. I've factory reset the device and installed it all again but with the Sam results. My phone and laptop connect fine, phone being an iPhone. Any advice how to resolve would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Colin007,

Thanks for reaching out.

Wi-Fi networks on dormitories, hotels, cafe and other establishments are not officially supported by Google Nest speakers, so they may or may not work with this type of network, it is not guaranteed. These type of networks has limitations on what devices can connect to it and also a security risk since this is a public network. However, if you still plan to get it connected, you can reach your local IT or network administrator and let them know that you want to connect your device to that network.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Princess
