Nest mini won't connect to iphone

Nest mini suddenly disconnected when the router was reset. Wouldn't connect in any way, gave the "disconnected device" message. Factory reset it, and now it will connect to wifi, but it won't connect to the phone. It says the device is online but it can't connect to the phone. The phone has been restarted and wifi disconnected and reconnected. Reset the nest to factory settings once again and nothing. What else can I do??

Hey Username03788,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue. I know how challenging it is not having a working device when needed. Let's try to get to the bottom of this. To confirm, is it responding when you say a command? Are you using a dual-band router?

Let's try these steps below:

  1. Make sure that mobile data is off.
  2. Move your Google Nest device within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  3. Reboot your Google Nest device and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
  4. Turn WiFi on and off on the mobile setup device.
  5. Try to use a different phone and see if you will have the same issue.
  6. If it is still the same, factory reset your device.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
