Nest mini won't connect to wifi.

I just had my router replaced, same name and password.

I have 2 google nest mini, 1 bedroom, 1 living room.

After router replacement neither would connect to internet.

Living room, went through setup, had to enter same password manually to connect.

Bedroom, same, can hear the 'connect sound' but doesn't connect.

Swapped nests ........ living room nest still works in bedroom. ...... bedroom nest won't connect in living room.

Just sits there saying "I can't connect to the wifi network ...... you might ........"

What do I do now?

Fixed it with a reset.

Turn mic off

Hold center of mini nest speaker for 15 seconds.

Various noises, but don't let go until sounds stop and 4 orange lights.

Wait a minute or two, google mini nest will suggest you setup using Google Home app.

Turn mic back on, Setup as normal.

All works.

I have the same problem/symptoms. We upgraded our cable modem which is/was Bridged to a google wifi mesh.  Same SSID & pw. Everything works fine on wifi except 2 nest mini's. After manually entering the wifi password, I get this message "Connection problem during setup. Please check your WiFi network settings." And yes, I've hard reset the nest mini's and the cable modem.  I can get it's attention and add it if I hotspot my phone and then configure with a different phone, which confirms that the nest mini's are working fine.  What creepy crawlies can be hanging around from the previous setup? Just for 'fun', I took a working nest mini, did the reset and now I have three paper weights. Any ideas?

I've spent 4 hours with google support and we can't get them to work thru the normal wifi. And that was 5 days ago. https://support.google.com/chat/?hl=en#topic=7649316

I have done the exactly same after having a new WiFi router too, I’m stuck with two of these nests that are absolutely useless, it’s ridiculous that just from having a new wifi set up in your home they become no use, very frustrating

Having the same issue. After scouring the internet and trying every single solution I am at a loss. I did get the mini to connect to a mobile hotspot we made with my husband's phone so something works?

I've reset the mini and the router. Moved the speaker next to the router. Uninstalled and reinstalled the home app on my phone. Restarted my phone. Tried connecting with my phone in airplane mode. Tried setting it up using a different device. Logged into the router to make sure the device wasn't banned. Changed the channels. Went back to auto. Is there something I'm missing?

If factory resetting your Nest doesn't work, try setting your router to broadcast 2.4 GHz only. Worked for me. I then re-enabled my 5 Ghz with no issues.

This soul has been shouting and ready just that no man ready help but I’m glad it’s happening here

The trick seems to be too factory reset the mesh and reset it up with same SSID and password, etc.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is there any further updates to this? I've done all the resets numerous times and tried the hot spotting as well.... Very stubborn wee nest that won't connect!!! I am using a google router and mesh too, with an nest audio that works 100%.

I had a problem connecting my old Nest Mini today...

Did a factory reset, and all is good until the "connecting to wifi" phase.

I have Google Wifi (2pcs), and tried to reset the network too, but no luck there.

And then.... While browsing the devices connected to my network , I found the Nest Mini there, but it was set to "paused".

Guess I have paused it by mistake recently.

Unpaused it, and it connected the very same second.

My mini speaker is having connection problems. I have three devices a screen a mini speaker and Chromecast so after changing routers and changing the name on 2,4 - everything in my house connected right back up my TV my phone automagically except  the google nest products.
1 - I thought Google nest products were supposed to talk to each other and help with the configurations once one is configured the others copy it. Has this stopped?  So with a bit of fiddling I got my screen working and eventually the Chromecast working - it was way too hard but of course the mini speaker never quit failing; not even with the other two devices hooked in. 2. Why can’t Google home have a setting to change your Wi-Fi SSI & do your password like almost every other device in the world?

like what was mentioned earlier there’s some kind of remnant of memory of what used to be and the nest is not going to connect even after resetting many times then using Bluetooth, set up with the phone connected directly. Nothing has changed the mini speaker from failing. I’ve had that mini speaker for years I’ve gone to two or three different houses never had a problem before I think some update of the firmware or software has taken the dependability away. Thanks for listening.
