My Nest Hub now stops casting content from my android as soon as the phone goes into lock screen or if I get out of the Google movies app. Only started last couple of days. Any idea how to stop it doing that please?

Is your phone connected to the same Wi-Fi network where the speaker is connected? If you have a spare phone to use, you can also try that and see if you will get the same results as your other phone. From there, we can isolate if this is a device specific issue or not.
