Nest speakers cannot remove alarms and timers "there are none set at the moment" but not true

I have 5 devices around my home, some are 1st gen Google Nest Mini and others are 1st Gen Google Home Mini and when setting alarms and timers for cooking, whichever speaker responds is the one to set it up. When trying to cancel any alarm or timer, it will respond with "if you asked to cancel an alarm. There are none set at the moment" and a few minutes or seconds later, the alarm sounds.

There is inconsistency in Google detecting alarms and timers. It differentiates between alarm and timer. If you set an alarm and then ask to cancel an alarm, it won't, unless you're very specific between the word "alarm" and "timer".

If I keep yelling to cancel an alarm, the same speaker keeps responding that there are no alarms, but a different speaker is the one that has the alarm set.

To remove any alarm or timer, you have to personally go to each speaker and ask to cancel it and hope another speaker doesn't hear it.

There is also no way to remove all alarms and timers in a same house, like only the speaker that is listening only has the information about that same speaker and can't cancel anything related to the other ones.

I don't use Home app in any device. I only use the speakers and their mic.

If the alarm sounds seconds later then the cloud was probably already in the process of sounding the alarm when you said to cancel it.

A Nest Hub would have shown this and you could have waited and could have just said "stop" at the end.

Yes, the alarm can only be cancelled on the Google speaker that set it.

Alexa on the other hand can cancel an Alarm from any other speaker and you can add and remove time from timers.

The speaker might need a factory reset.

I don't mean about the alarm sounding seconds later, but more like at 7 am i ask to cancel my alarms and it responds that there are none set but at 7:30am my alarm sounds.

And yes, only the speaker that has the alarm can cancel it before it sounds, which is getting really annoying.

But there is the issue that I have to specific between alarm and timer. I don't remember if I sent an alarm or a timer but to remove it I have to specify alarm or timer.

The speakers don't need a factory reset as it was done recently, because another issue is having to always factory reset them all every time the Wi-Fi password changes.

It's not just one speaker, but multiple ones, different generations.

The most annoying thing is not being to cancel any alarm and timer from any speaker in the same house before it sounds.

Should I just move to Alexa?

It wasn't as bad before because before I could repeat the command and a different speaker would respond, now the same speaker responds even though multiple speakers caught it. I mean that when saying "Hey Google" more than 2 speakers turn light on, meaning they heard me, but the same speaker would respond over and over, but that one that responds happens to not have any timer or alarm set.

After testing around, I think I found the solution: turn off "ultrasound sensing" option in the speakers that have that functionality. This at least helps with the issue of the same speaker responding but it's still a major disappointment not being able to cancel an alarm from any speaker before it sounds.
