Nest will only play Radio X 90’s

I use my Google nest on a daily basis and just tell it what radio station to play.  Since Radio X had a new station (radio x 90’s) the nest wont play normal radio x .  I say” play Radio X” and it always just goes to the 90’s one.   I have to play on my phone and connect to speaker.  How can I get the nest to play the correct station?

Hello folks,

Thank you for reaching out to this community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest device plays Radio X 90s instead of the Radio X station you normally listen to. Don't worry, I'm here to assist you.

In order to gather further details and determine the optimal resolution, I will need to ask you some questions.

  • What model of Nest device do you have? If you’re unable to recognize it, please check out this article to identify it: Google Nest device specifications

  • When did the trouble first occur?

  • Do you experience this situation just with this radio station?

In the meantime, visit this help article: Control Google Nest or Home devices by voice, and try to use the recommended voice command to request this radio station.

If you have any additional details or information that might be helpful, please feel free to share them in this thread.

Regards,

Daniel

Having the same issue with Google nest audio since last week. I want Radio X (main) but it opens radio x 90s.

Hello SACAMOTO,

Thank you for your post. To help me understand the situation and provide effective assistance, please attempt the suggested voice commands mentioned in the help article. Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I'm suffering with the same problem.

I have use Google assistant through Sonos One speaker.

This problem started in the last month I think.

Not working at all for us now, started playing Radio x, the would only play radio x 90s, we used radio x uk and it worked for about 2 weeks, now it won't play anything from global player. Can't seem to link with the nest either. Help please

Quick work around, ask for “Radio X UK”

You sir, are a gentleman of exceptional moral character and unrivalled standing.

This has been the best work-around I have found, thank you

Same with me. Since January or so. How to fix this?

Ask for "Radio X UK"

Posting this here as you guys are obviously radio X fans. My hub max stopped playing the global player about a week ago. You ask it to "play radio x UK", it replies saying "streaming radio x from global player", the global player screen loads for a few seconds and then it just shuts down.

Anyone else having this problem? Google have suggested doing it through TuneIn and iHeartRadio but neither work.

  • Yes I’m having the same problem

Yes also getting the same thing now. 🙁

I would consider switching smart home speakers but I feel like we’re at a bit of a turning point where once these companies get the hang of AI they’ll be a new market leader. Google are awful at keeping their products relevant!

I’ve had the same problem. If you ask it to play Radio X UK it usually plays the main station.

Same issue. I can’t even cast from my phone. It’s like Google is repelling it!
