No Sound on Spotify with Nest Hub 2nd Gen

I'm experiencing an issue with my Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen where it won't play sound from Spotify. Here's a detailed summary of the problem:

  • Issue Details:

    • Spotify shows as playing on the screen, but no sound comes out.
    • Other apps like Pandora work without issues.
    • Spotify works fine on my other Google devices, like the Google Home Mini, but not on the Nest Hub 2nd Gen.
  • Troubleshooting Steps Tried (No Success):

    • Factory reset the device.
    • Cleared cache and rebooted the device.
    • Restarted my router and ensured my internet connection (1 Gbps) is stable.
    • Unlinked and re-linked Spotify.
    • Tested the device in a speaker group. Music plays on all other speakers except the Nest Hub.
    • Used a brand-new Nest Hub 2nd Gen as a test. It worked initially, but after updates, the same issue occurred.
  • Additional Observations:

    • If I open Spotify on my phone and cast to the Nest Hub, the app opens briefly on the Hub and then crashes to the home screen.
    • If I directly ask the Nest Hub to play Spotify, it appears to play but does so silently.
    • The problem started recently, most likely after a firmware update.

It seems to be a device-specific issue related to recent updates. Searching Reddit and Google forums, I found other users reporting the same issue, but no definitive fixes are available.

Please let me know if this is a known issue or if there's a fix or workaround. If this is related to a firmware bug, is there a timeline for an update?
