I purchased this Nest to use as a hub for music and news. The video plays perfectly..... but I have only once heard a sound from the speaker. I have rebooted the factory reset and left it unplugged... not thing works. I even attempted Bluetooth, but when it worked, the voice was well delayed to the video. .... This is nothing more than an overpriced photo frame... Can not return was purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond and is currently going out of business. Also will just randomly reboot 3-4 times a day.
Has anyone succeeded with a fix before I throw this crap against the wall?

Thanks for reaching out. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues with your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen). Let's try to get to the bottom of this.
A few questions:
Let's go ahead and reset your device by pressing and holding both volume buttons together, at the back of the Nest Hub (2nd gen), for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting the Nest display. This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
Let me know how it goes.

The only time I have gotten any sort of sound out of it was during the initial start up. I requested the news to be played and I had sound for about 30 seconds. I have tried music apps I have watched YouTube with no sound. Since then I have rebooted a number of times and I have done the factory reset 3-4 times and have gone through the set up process hoping that it would clear up the issue. I left the device unplugged for a complete weekend as well as a past effort. I have had it on all week hoping an update would come through and correct the issues but have noticed that it reboots it self sometimes coming back to the screen saver/photo frame. And other times it goes to the main set up screen that is shown when you need to set up the device the first time with the qr code and then after a few minutes it will go back to normal. Still no sound. I have attached a photo of the current firmware.
Also out of curiosity I linked the device to a Bluetooth speaker to see if it was a hardware issue and only one time that it did that work with a YouTube video and the voice sync to the video was about 5 seconds off. I have not gotten anything since
