Notifications on the Google Hub

Hi everyone

I am new to the forum so I have no idea whether this has been discussed here.

I have a GOOGLE Hub and a Google nest cam. The camera looks down on my front door. Now I would like to get a notification AND more importantly a picture on the hub, as soon as  a person is in sight of the camera. How can I get this done please?

I did not find a way and every help is very much appreciated!!

@legoman

Unfortunately, the only notifications that can be sent from a Google Nest camera to a Nest Hub are notifications of when the doorbell button is pressed on a Google Nest doorbell, via the "Visitor announcements" option.

There might be a way to do that via automations, but we have never tried.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write me an answer. But isn’t that partly what the GOOGLE Hub is for, showing what the connected cameras see and displaying it immediately? I don’t understand this. Even if I don’t get a notification in form of a written text, there is no way the hub shows the activity in front of the connected camera, as soon as it happens?

Where can I find the automations?

Thank you very much!

The only notifications we get on our Nest Hubs are "visitor announcements" when one of the doorbell buttons is pressed.

If you go to Settings in the Google Home app, Automations is an option on the bottom (on your phone) or on the left side (on your tablet).  I can't tell you any more than that.  Here's a Help topic:
