So one of the troubleshooting steps recommended to solve my sprinkler problem was to reset the Nest hub. (I manage the home but there are other users too, e.g. my wife.)
I was the only one home, so I held the volume buttons until the device reset. So far so good.
What surprised me was the message in the home app that my wife removed the device (Nest hub) from the home.... (She never added or removed anything in the past, so why that random message???)
(On a side note, the cosmetic sprinkler problem has not been solved yet and was escalated by support)

Hi altenbach,
Thanks for the detailed info you've shared.
Could you tell us where exact in the Home did you find that message? Your wife must be somehow linked to the Home app that's why it appears in the history of the Home app.
Let us know more details so we can check on it further.
Best,
Princess

I was looking at the home app after clicking on the "activity" button. The above was one of the log entries.
Yes, my wife (and another account) are part of the home, but she has never added or removed a device. I set up the home and my email is also alphabetically first.
I understand that "google home" cannot really tell who did a reset of the Nest hub, but it should not randomly blame one of the other users if there is ambiguity. Maybe it should just not list an e-mail at all. Pointing fingers without real data is not correct behavior. 😄

Hi altenbach,
That's pretty weird. No worried, we'll take this as a feedback. In line with this, we’d like to encourage you to send a feedback regarding this and for any features that you’re looking forward to using with our Google Nest devices.
Feel free to respond anytime if you have additional questions, otherwise we'll be locking the thread shortly.
Best,
Princess

Hi there,
I just wanted to check if you have additional concerns or questions about your device.

Thanks, overall, it is working great and I will start a new thread if there are new issues. The cosmetic sprinkler problem is still not solved (It cannot get the status, while the phone app can) and the problem with the Lorex Cameras has been finally identified and is waiting for a fix that does not require enabling audio recording (which is typically illegal!).

Hey altenbach,
It's our pleasure helping you! For sprinkler, this looks like a limitation set by the manufacturer itself. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.
Cheers,
Muddi

One-sided blaming is still way too common. I would expect Google AND manufacturer to compare notes, work together, and come up with a fix. 😄
Is that typically happening behind the scenes or do I need to contact Orbit myself?

Hey altenbach,
Since the issue is related to how the Google Home/Nest devices control the sprinklers, it is best to contact the manufacturer. We'll consider this as feedback, and we’d like to encourage you to send a feedback regarding this and for any features that you’re looking forward to using with our Google Nest devices.
Feel free to respond to this if you have additional questions, otherwise we'll be locking this thread in 24 hours.
Cheers,
Muddi
