Okay/Hey Google

Is it possible to turn off the "hey/okay Google" part of the voice commands? Can I make it so all I need to do is say "light on" and skip the okay Google part?

By the way, I know why the activation phrase is there. The words "light on" come up in every day conversation. But what if I don't care? I live alone. I know why it's there. Can I disable it?

Hi LiquidFlames,

Glad you reached out and sorry for the late response.

Google Home/Nest speakers wake up words are "Ok Google" and "Hey Google" since we started to launch it. I apprciate your ideas on improving it as we all want to maximize its full potential.

In line with this, we would like to have the opportunity to share your feedback on how we can improve our Google Home/Nest speakers. You can follow the steps on this link and let's hope for these possibilities.

Best,

Princess

Hi Hi LiquidFlames,

I'd like to check if you still need help with this? If you have questions, please feel free to respond to this thread.

Yes, I do. I will always need help with it until they update the devices to have the option to disable the wakeup phrase. You can't help with that. So yes I still need help but not from you.
