On the same wi-fi network, still says it isn't and cannot change settings as a result.

I am on the same wifi network as my Google Home mini speaker and yet the Google Home app says that we are not. I have a dualband router so I have ensured we are both on the 2.4GHz network so there is nothing that should prevent me from connecting to my speaker to manage its settings.

I have checked the Device Information and it is indeed on the same network as me, and on the same band, so what else can I troubleshoot?

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you cannot change WIFI settings on your Nest Mini speaker.

 

To better understand the situation, I'd also like to ask a couple of questions:

 

  • What kind of error code did you have?
  • Have you tried connecting your Nest Mini speaker to another network or hotspot?
  • What troubleshooting have you tried so far?

In the meantime, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

 

Reboot Everything:

  • Restart your phone or tablet that you're using with the Google Home app.
  • Reboot your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it from the power source for about a minute, then plugging it back in.
