I have 2 Onkyo GX-30 google assistant speakers that for the last few years have worked without issue until recently.
The speakers will not play music, they respond 'Sorry something went wrong' and will not play music when cast to from the Google Home app 'Error' is displayed. They do however, play the broadcast messages when commanded to from these speakers or any other google speakers, so the speakers do work and connect to the wifi correctly.
I have removed the speakers and the added them, tried them in a speaker pair and individually, but they will not play music but they will always announce the broadcast messages.
Can you help troubleshoot this issue please?

Talk to Onkyo. May they've stopped supporting them.
Buy Google Nest speakers next time.

Not a helpful response. Google obviously "approved" the Onkyo speakers and licensed the Google Assistant to them. Asking for help is perfectly acceptable. What do you say to the thousands of people who have clunky issues with the Google Nest speakers? Say "Buy an Amazon speaker next time?" Or "Maybe Google shouldn't have made any speakers at all - we can live without them?"
