Please note: the choice of 'web browser' for the 'platform' was the closest I could come to indicating any originating PC source, even when casting from the browser has not been selected.
I am using two Next Audio smart speakers, model GA01420-US that are paired, one designated 'left', the other designated 'right' during setup via the Home App on an Android smart phone. I am using Bluetooth to send audio to the pair from a PC. There is no indication that I am 'Casting' from the PC in the normal sense. Is a 'casting' process happening between the two speakers anyway? Even though the PC does not indicate casting in progress (in fact it indicates the possibility of starting to cast), the Home App on an Android DOES present the option to 'stop casting'. If I stop casting and then re-select the speaker pair to see the volume or other settings, it once again presents the option to stop casting even though I hadn't directly chosen to begin casting anything. Am I correct to think that the audio is carried to one of the speakers via Bluetooth from the PC, but then the casting process is being used 'in the background' between the two speakers, and this introduces a delay that cannot be corrected?
All video-with-audio sources played on the PC present with a lag between audio and video of approximately one half to a full second. This is not a delay between the pair or a delay between the pair and another audio device causing a reverb or echo sound effect. The zero to 200ms delay setting has either no effect, or, if it does have some effect, it is not the one that is needed. Since the audio lags so far behind the video, further delay doesn't seem to be what is needed in any case.
If there is no correcting this problem, I would think the product description(s) should indicate, boldly and up front, that this model of Nest Audio speakers CANNOT be used for computer speakers as a left/right pair even if connection to the computer happens via Bluetooth (no form of normal PC casting having been selected).
