PROBLEM: Pixel 7a YouTube Music automatically connects when listening to music on mini speaker

Anyone know how to stop this?

This morning my husband was listening to Otep on the Google Home mini in the kitchen. He wasn't casting from his phone (Pixel 6); he asked the speaker to play it.

I decided to go out and water my flowers. I connected my Bluetooth earbuds to my phone (Pixel 7a) and put on the same Clyde Lawrence song I've been listening to over and over for the past few days (I'm decidedly AuDHD) which made "Homesick" start playing in the kitchen.

Now, if you are familiar with either of these artists, you will know that it must have been a very jarring transition for him—not to mention I'm sure he's sick of that song 😅

He's the one that asked for Otep, and have our voices set up to know who we are and which devices we use. I don't want that in MY music history. But now there it is. -_-

I have been aware of the casting feature and use it frequently to play music on the Google Home speakers throughout the house. That's the main reason that this is frustrating; it's unnecessary!

Hi TopazEmrys,

That’s a bummer! No worries, let’s further look into it. I just wanted to confirm, there are two accounts linked to the Google Home app — yours and your husbands? Try to “Teach your Assistant your voice again” in the Google Home app under Hey Google & Voice match, and then unplug the Google Home Mini device for a minute > Plug back in > Try to play music again.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex
