Paired Nest Mini 2 plays choppy over Bluetooth

Hi,

I have two Nest Minis paired in stereo, and linked my Apple Music account. Playing music directly w/ voice control plays perfectly clear sound. But if I connect this stereo pair to a laptop or a smartphone w/ Bluetooth and play something in the connected device, it plays horribly choppy all the sudden. Any suggestions?

FYI – I tried reboot/re-pairing of the pair but the problem persists. I tried to connect iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, MacBook Air, and LG Gram over BT which all end up with the same problem. As said the pair works okay without BT as such it shouldn't be an issue of network congestion, unless Nest Mini has internal 2.4 GHz interference btw. WiFi and BT.

They are not good bluetooth speakers to begin with, doing it as a stereo pair is even worse. They are really designed to be cast to.

Hi folks,

@kiltguy2112, thanks for the help.

@KarenPR, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having performance issues when playing music, and this is happening on your Nest Mini’s as a stereo pair linked to your laptop or smartphone via Bluetooth. It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot to refresh all connections between devices. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest Mini’s. Plug them back in after 3 minutes. Restarting your phone and laptop might also help.

Once done, since all are on the 2.4 GHz, could you go ahead and access your router settings and move to the channels 1, 6 or 11 to isolate and see if the behavior persists.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan
