Pairing with Creative Muvo speaker

claudz

I'm trying to pair my Google Nest Hub to my Creative MUVO speaker. In the 'Pair your Bluetooth speaker' settings it finds the device, so I tick it and then click 'Done'. But, then I get a message saying 'Could not pair with this speaker'. Is there a way to pair it?

Hello claudz,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

We're sorry for the trouble this may have caused you — let's see what's going on. To confirm, are you able to connect other devices on your Google Nest Hub via Bluetooth?

Please try these steps below:

  1. Reboot both devices, then try to pair again.
  2. Reinstall the Google Home app.
  3. Perform a Factory Data Reset (FDR) on the speaker and try to pair again.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Juni, I'm sorry for my very late reply. It has been a hectic week. I've tried the steps right now.

I've rebooted both the Nest Hub and the Muvo speaker (and have done a factory reset on the speaker too). I then reinstalled the Google Home app on my phone. When I go to pair the device again via the Google Home app, it does connect to the speaker (it says 'Found device') and my Muvo speaker makes a sound that it is connected. However when I click 'Done' it again comes up with the message: "Could not pair with this speaker". Is the Muvo Play speaker compatible with the Nest Hub? I don't have other speakers, so can't try the app with any others.

Hi claudz,

Thanks for trying those steps. Most of the Bluetooth speakers are compatible with the Nest Hub, but it is best if you could check it with the manufacturer. Let's go ahead and try connecting your phone to your Nest Hub via Bluetooth connection so we can further isolate the issue.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Hi Muddi, I've tried connecting my iphone to the Nest Hub (via Settings > Bluetooth on my phone), however the Nest Hub doesn't appear on the list of devices to connect to. If I open the Spotify app though, then I can play music from my phone (via Spotify) onto the Nest Hub through casting. Would there be a reason why it's not showing up in the bluetooth settings?

Hey claudz,

Did you ask your Nest Hub to turn on or enable Bluetooth connection?

Hi Muddi,

Enabling the Bluetooth connection has now allowed me to connect to the Nest Hub from my phone's Bluetooth settings, but I'm still not having any luck pairing the Nest Hub to the Muvo speaker via the Google Home app (even when telling Nest Hub to turn on the Bluetooth).

Hi claudz,

Thanks for trying. Since we were able to connect your Nest display to your phone, that means that your Nest Hub's Bluetooth is working. Let's try these steps below:

  1. Say, "Hey Google, disconnect all Bluetooth devices."
  2. Reboot your Muvo and Nest Hub. Once the devices are fully restarted, please try again to connect.

If the issue persists, please reach out to Muvo support to verify if your speaker is compatible with connecting to a different device such as Nest Hub.

Cheers,

Muddi

 Hi Muddi,

Thanks for your response Muddi. So we've made some progress. I've followed your instructions and this time it finally connected to the speaker and said 'Default Speaker Set' for the Muvo Speaker. The only issue now is that when I say "Hey Google, play music", it still plays through the nest hub instead of the Muvo speaker even though it is saying that the 'Default music speaker' is "MUVO Play (Bluetooth)" on the Google Home app in the Nest Hub Audio Settings.

Hello claudz,

Could you try removing the default speaker and reverting it back to the Nest Hub? Please note that there is no need to set your Muvo speaker as the default speaker for your Nest Hub because it is already connected via Bluetooth. This means that all audio output from your Nest Hub will be played on your Muvo speaker.

Keep us posted.

Thanks Muddi and Alex. I've tried again this morning. This time it even says on the Nest Hub itself that MUVO Play is Connected, but still the music will play through the Nest Hub and not the Muvo speaker haha. I really don't know what is going on.

Hello claudz,

Please check if you have the option to reset your Muvo speaker. If so, go ahead and perform a reset to refresh its settings. Once done, try connecting your Muvo speaker to your Nest Hub via Bluetooth.

Cheers,

Muddi
