Philips TV ChromeCast

I have a Philips smart tv (PUS8505) with Chromecast built in, but my Android phones don't find it. I'm sure both my phones and the TV are connected to the same wifi network . I tried to add it with "Google home", but the TV isn't detected by the app. Tried it with 3 different phone, and none of them work. But using my Computer (HP EliteDesk), and my laptop (HP EliteBook) I can mirror the entire desktop using Google Chrome.

Does someone know how to solve this issue?

Thank you.

On the TV I have cleared data for Android Sytem webview and Chromecast built in. After that removed the updates of these apps, restarted the TV, but still doesnt work.

Hey there Richard_Toth,

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience on this! Were you able to fix that Chromecast built-in issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know these connection issues can be confusing to figure out on your own. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Is the TV's firmware up-to-date?
  • Are you connected to the same network band? Either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
  • Have you attempted a factory reset on the TV?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

After a few weeks, its working now. I have not changed anything. One day i just noticed it was working properly.

I have the same problem. Just bought a new philips tv with android tv, but the chromecast built-in doesn't seem to work. Everything is up to date and I already did a factory reset and reinstall. It is also all connected to the same wifi network. The weird thing is that I can still find another chromecast that is connected to another tv within my home.

update: If I use the mobile hotspot of my phone to connect my tv and laptop with, I can find the tv within my casting devices.

This makes it even more unclear for me since the other chromecast is working on the normal wifi network but this one isn't
