So changing the router appears to have fixed most issues except our Phillips hue smart lights will not connect to google. Are you able to assist with trouble shooting this?

Hi Hollyrogers0207,

Let’s further troubleshoot this. If you're setting up the Philips Hue bulbs in the Google Home app from a distance, try moving the bulb within 15 feet of the Google Home speaker or display and check if that resolves the issue. If there are electronic devices near your Google Home device and Philips Hue bulbs, move the devices away from those types of devices to rule out interference. Force close and reopen the Google Home app, then try to set up the Philips Hue bulbs again.

Warmly,
Alex

Did the setup through my phone app

I tried. But the app can't even find the Hue without power on my Nest.

Can you also clarify "Disable Bluetooth connection through Philips hue app"? Not sure if I'm doing it right

Do you have other Nest devices besides the Nest Hub? It seems like you forced the bluetooth setup on a different device by unplugging your Nest Hub

Hi everyone. This is the method that has worked for me.

  • Reset the light manually (turn off for 2s, turn on for 8s - repeat this step until the light flashes)
  • In the Google home app go to add your light and select it (light should now be flashing when selected). Proceed in the setup process until the point in which you have to name the light.
  • Now turn off your Google Home device and turn it back on again
  • Then continue setting it up while the Google home is turning on

Not working for me. The process failed sooner when setting while Google home is turning on. Do I need somehow timing to hit continue while it's turning on?

Didn't work for me either. Same thing happened as you described. Process fails instantly when Nest is off.
