Photo frame issues

Hello, 

This all used to work before, I had to do a factory reset on my home hub max  and everything is set up again, however, the hub wont go back to my photo slide show after giving it any command or asking a question.

I have tried creating a new folder for the photos, only 10 photos.

If i restart the hub it goes back to displaying my slide show, this is very inconvenient after every command.  I do not know why it wont go back to my slideshow .

I understand that your Nest Hub Max is no longer returning to your photo slideshow after you give it a voice command or ask a question, even though it did this before the factory reset. I appreciate the troubleshooting efforts you have made to restore this feature on your device. I'd be happy to assist you.

To get started, please provide some more information by answering these questions:

  • Are you using the latest version of the Google Photo app? You can visit the Google Play Store or the App Store website to check if you have any pending updates.
  • Are you using the latest version of the Google Home app? If not, you can check this Google Help Center article to learn more: how to update the Google Home app.
  • Are you using an Android or iPhone device to manage your display?
  • Is your smartphone’s operating system updated?
  • What is the Nest Hub firmware version? You can use this help article as a reference: Find your device's firmware version
  • Are you having the same issue with other Google Photo albums?
  • Is your album set as a “Live album only”?
  • Are all the photos in your album marked as “favorite”?

In the meantime, follow these troubleshooting steps to help solve the inconvenience with your photo frame:

  1. Verify whether Google Photos is enabled:
    1. Open the Google Home app.
    2. Select the home structure where your Nest Display is located.
    3. Select the Nest Display.
    4. At the top right, tap Settings, then select “Photo frame.”
    5. Choose the preferred photo source: Google Photos, Art Gallery, or Full Screen.
  2. Restart your router:
    1. Unplug the Wi-Fi router from the power source for 2 minutes.
    2. Ensure that the router's lights turn off completely when unplugged.
      Note: Some routers have backup battery packs, so it will be necessary to disconnect the battery packs as well to ensure that the router is completely turned off.
    3. After 2 minutes, plug the router back into its power source.
    4. Once all the router lights are back on and you can find the network name listed in the Wi-Fi options on your mobile device or computer.
  3. Reboot the Nest Display:
    1. Unplug the power cord from the Nest Display.
    2. Leave it unplugged for one minute.
    3. Plug the power cord back in.
