Hello all.
Spent 5hrs trying to find the answer but no luck so asking here.
Given nest hub devices do not have local storage , use of picture frame functionality is somewhat concerning to me. I planned to purchase this for my parents , being able to upload photos of grandkids for them since they are not great with gadgets is great. But I am now concerned with the amount of data this eats.
I have seen articles where people lose 20+gb a month just on picture frame functionality , bit scary and seems crazy. Let's just say I have 100 pics that together are 200mb , at setting to update every 10 min will collect 8gb of data via internet despite all those images are only 200mb
That just seems surreal to me, and environmentally crazy. Hence asking ..
Are there any settings / mechanism to limit the hours when picture frame is active or clock only is visible, any local storage caching mechanism , any motion sensing functionality that would pause or resume depending on motion?
This product has lots of hype as picture frame , but the endless data usage seems crazy to me.
Please if anyone can provide some details , they will be much appreciated.
Thanks
T
