Play requested radio using a routine doesn't work properly

HelloJacker

Hi there.

I made a routine to play my favourite radio on the nest hub.

The radio name is "Radio Subasio".

The routine works fine: everytime I demand for it it starts playing radio Through "tune in radio" service.

Howevere there is an issue I can't fix.

Actually exists 3 types of "Radio Subasio":

They're:

1- Radio Subasio live (it transmits live music with a human speaker too) that's the one I would to listen to.

2- Radio Subasio + (it's a playlist of most popular song on this radio)

3- Radio Subasio love (it's a playlist of love songs on this radio)

I want to play LIVE radio but it starts always "Radio Subasio Plus".

I tried in every manner to fix this such as to indicate "play radio subasio Live" or "Play radio subasio direct" or "let me listen RAdio Subasio Live" and other commands but the system do not understand what I mean and starts a search on the Google engine or it tells me "I do not understand".

I tried also specifing the app to use but no way!

Could anyone help me to fix this annoying issue?
Google assistant is so smart but so stupid at same time!

Sorry for my bad english.

Thank you 🙂

Thanks for your tips.

Unfortunately i already tried all you suggested without a good result.

You see, here we aren't talking about a specific frequency but something like a sub-radio pattern. Once you reach the  requested radio you will face 3 variations: only one is the live radio, the others are pre-recorded playlist. I can't find the way to let Google assistant to understand I just want to listen the live and not any kind of playlist, podcast, top ten, top listened or everything else exists in the music panorama.  I want the live one, not else. But seems a very complex thing to explain to Google assistant.

Is there a way to turn off just the web search for Google assistant?  Too often it starts to search on the web instead to execute a command. For example if I say "Let me listen radio subasio live"  his reply is "here it is what I found", opening a web page or "playing radio Subasio from tune in radio" and starts to play a **bleep** playlist! It's going really frustrating and not so smart.

For sure, I tried several alternatives to say what I want but as I said there's no way: Google assistant starts to give me a web search result too easly.

At the moment I can't solve my problem.

Hi there,

Thanks for the details you provided. Do you have a Tune In subscription? If so, is the radio service linked to your Google Home app? Check the steps below on how to link it.

Connect your radio services:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. At the top right, tap your account.
  4. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Nest speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
  5. Go back to the home screen.
  6. Tap Media .
  7. Under "Manage your system," tap Radio.
  8. Tap a radio service.
  9. To connect your account, tap Ok, then sign in or sign up for the service and follow the in-app steps.
    • To unlink an account, tap Unlink Unlink account.

Note: You can only link one account per streaming service to your speaker or display.

Learn more about how to listen to radio on your speaker or display.

Check this link for more information.

Hope this helps.

Hi folks,

this appears to be related to a known issue, though it's been frustratingly difficult to determine if it's actually a new issue and even on Google's radar.  However, there are several other independent threads and web articles describing this issue.  Here's another Google Nest Community thread that's still active that seems to align with what's being described here.

I just posted this to the other nest community thread I previously mentioned:

____________

I just ended a support chat session that I started on https://support.google.com/googlenest/

Pretty straightforward, I scrolled to the bottom and chose the "Contact Us" button, which led me to a simple form to identify the product-- in this case, "Google Home" then a brief description, which I wrote, "Google home voice commands no longer work with playing audio. Speaker groups no longer recognized."

This led me to a lengthy chat with tech who had me create a new "test" home and move my speakers into it, then create a new speaker group and try to initiate voice commands to play audio.  Sadly, it did not work.  The tech had me hold for about 3 minutes while they spoke with their "senior support."  The tech came back and this was our exchange:

5:20:34 <Google Tech>: I have checked with my Senior Support and this is an emerging issue that we have
for audio group.
5:20:55 <Me>: any resolution eta?
5:21:14 <Google Tech>: As of now this issue is still under investigation.
5:21:23 <Google Tech>: Here's what we're going to do.
5:21:34 <Me>: is this documented anywhere on in Google's Support portal?
5:21:37 <Me>: okay
5:21:41 <Me>: standing by
5:22:02 <Google Tech>: First, I would like you to send a feedback by using a voice command "Hey Google
send feedback."
5:22:16 <Google Tech>: Then say this keyword GHT3 Unable to play music on audio group.
5:22:26 <Me>: okay, one sec while I do that
5:22:36 <Google Tech>: Sure! Thank you!
5:23:23 <Me>: issued
5:23:45 <Google Tech>: After that, I will escalate this case to Higher Tier of Support for further updates on
their end, you can still use the email that I have sent if you need assistance or updates about
this issue.
5:24:07 <Google Tech>: Once I have an update from the team, I will email you with the details.
5:24:09 <Me>: i would like updates
5:24:14 <Me>: thank you
5:24:59 <Google Tech>: No worries! I will take care of this case for you and update you, kindly give the
team atleast 24-48 hours for a response and I will send the details to you.
5:25:08 <Me>: thank you. may I have a copy of this chat?
5:25:20 <Me>: is that something you can email to me for me to remember what we did?
5:26:05 <Google Tech>: Sure, one sec

_____________

I believe that feedback code may also work for others.

For those of you who have about an hour to give away, I was issued a reference number and sent an email, so that's probably close to a "ticket" and something most likely tracked by their support tiers. The more of those coming in from unique users *may* help get more visibility to Google.
