Possible to mute one speaker in a pair

I have paired two Nest mini speakers.
One is outside and one is inside. This works well when listening while running in and back and forth from the kitchen and barbecue.
I would love to be able to mute one of them when I am only cooking inside.

The two speakers act as left and right audio channels, and they function as a single audio output. You cannot mute one side independently unfortunately. Aside from unpairing them via the app temporarily, you can reduce the volume of one speaker to near zero, but you can’t fully mute it without affecting the other speaker I'm afraid.
