Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties setting alarms on your Nest Hub 2nd Gen. It isn't recognizing the alarm commands and is giving the error message, 'Sorry, I don't think I understand,' even when you specify the hour with '00.' I understand how inconvenient it is to set alarms manually, especially when the snooze option keeps canceling. I'd be happy to help!

I also appreciate the workarounds already done. To continue investigating the inconvenience, I'd like to ask the following:

  • Is the Nest Hub correctly connected to the Google Account and set up on the Wi-Fi network?

In the meantime, let's try the following:

  • Ensure you have the latest versions of the Google Home app and your mobile software.
  • Perform a restart on the Nest Hub. For reference, you can check out this article: Reboot Google Nest or Home speaker or display.
  • Then, use this command to set a test alarm: 'Hey Google, set an alarm for XX.' (Example: 'Hey Google, set an alarm for 3 P.M.') To ensure the Nest Hub understood the question or command, ask, 'Repeat the question.'
  • Verify the alarm's status by using the command: 'When is my alarm set for?' This will determine whether the Nest Hub can recognize the alarm and its scheduled time.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Di sicuro è un bug software.

Grazie del supporto!

Hi MatteoFB,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing the same inconvenience on your Nest speakers and displays. I’d be happy to help!

I appreciate the workarounds you've attempted. To further investigate this situation, it's necessary to confirm the Nest devices' understanding of the commands. Please double-check the steps provided above to verify the Nest devices' comprehension and the alarm status. This will help isolate whether the inconvenience lies with the devices or Google Assistant.

As an additional step, you can try performing a factory reset on one of your Nest speakers or displays to see if that resolves the inconvenience. For reference, you can check out this article: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays.

Please keep me updated.

Best regards,

Jennifer
