Hey Google Nest users.
Back in 2022 there were a lot of users having issues with the camera not working and issues with installing Google hardware in the Google Home App either the camera not working or not being able to install the Google Nest thermostat on a network with Nest hubs and various smart devices already on the home in the Google home app.
I kept my Google Nest Thermostat installed in a second separate "home" in the Google Home App calling the second home "thermostat" as guided by Google support as a work around for these issues at the time. Worked ok for the most part for me.
Update to later 2023 and now into 2024! I no longer need the two separate homes installed in Google Home. I got a new router/modem and internet supplier so I decided at the time to re-install all my Google smart home hardware and reset up Google Home App.
I started with my two displays, the Google Nest Hub max and second gen Google Nest hubs, then installed my Nest doorbell and Nest thermostat. I added all my smart lights, plugs, smart entertainment devices etc. and everything works properly, all cameras, thermostat and even a new smart Weiser doorlock set i bought from Costco a couple weeks later!
So in conclusion if you were having similar issues that were very difficult to fix at the time, and I got lots of help here at the time )with thanks to all I sent kudos to back then), redoing/reinstalling everything seems to work well now (presumably after many auto Google updates) at least for my setup, which is larger than ever now, with just the one home setup in the Google Home App, the way it should be!
