RadioApp no loading on Google Nest Hub Max

RadioApp will not load on my Nest Hub Max. Other nest devices in the same household are fine.
Has been working fine, but stopped within the last week or so. Responds to my voice command "Play 3AW' but then the loading process freezes. Other radio services seem fine (iHeartradio) works on the Hub max, but RadioApp does not.

Contacted Google support via email ... the suggested the usual reboot and update solutions ... no change. Opened a chat to Google support, nothing additional to help, but they did suggest to open a Feedback on the issue through the Google home app. When enough people report the same issue, it gets the attention of the next level support people, who should be able to resolve the issue.

** UPDATE **
This is a Google issue ... probably a bug in a recent firmware upgrade that you have no control over.
If you are on firmware level 26.20250116.103.2201 you will probably have the problem.
It is a worldwide issue for Nest Hub devices. Google are aware and some users in the UK have recently reported their problem has been fixed. Hopefully just a matter of time before they roll the fix out to us in Australia ... keep checking.

You are lucky you are able to use media alarms - never worked for me - apparently because I use a 'UK English voice'.

My Nest Hub Max and now my smaller 7" display have stopped streaming the Global Player and Rayo Radio apps. Are there any clues? Is there a fix forthcoming? Do you know?

Same but my speakers works, seems to be somthing with devices with displays for me

Mine is exactly the same only  responds to my command but my radio station doesn’t come on my nest only on the other small devices.

Why is Google nest hub 2nd gen and Google nest Max not being sold in Australian stores anymore?

You can select the 'Notify me" button when stock becomes available, but I don't know when or if stock will ever become available again. They've had no stock for a long time now.

They're still selling the Google Pixel Tablet (and charging base) so...🤷

I thought my Nest Hub was faulty and looking to replace it, but now im seeing lots of other customers devices are also not running radio stations anymore, so a new device probably doesnt help.

I 'think' google are about to drop replacement devices with gemini or something.. which is why they are out of stock, but im not sure if thats months away..

@Adsonest check the website of the service you are using (eg. TuneIn) to see if it is "currently unavailable". It happens sometimes.

Heya, naa this is something different, atleast 4 different radio apps impacted for the last few weeks... every 2nd thread in this sub-forum is for the same issue, and I can see its in the UK and Australia, assumably its global.

I've had to basically turn the my google nest into a bluetooth speaker. To listen to the radio I have to bluetooth my mobile to it.  Is there any other brands for smart displays, as over the past few weeks it like Google has dumbed its self down.

Same prob for me on google hub max. It won't play radio 3aw , but oddly it will play ABC radio... both are using Radio app.

For Abc radio it works but for 3aw it seems to get stuck after saying it going to play 3aw on Radio app. Problem has been about a week. Disconnection didn't help. 

Very frustration as I have routine /animation that is supposed to wake me with 3aw radio each morning.  Without that I'm feeling my google hub max is pretty useless.

Its driving me nuts, i am lost without my 3AW, my google won't stream any radio station. I wish it would stream from the stations apps or websites. Sorry to sound selfish, but so so glad i am not the only one.. i have asked friends that live around Melb ( as i am regional) they can still stream 3aw on their google home..

One workaround that seems to work, it to use your nest hub like a bluetooth speaker.
Open the RadioApp app on your smartphone, connect to your station and then tap the 'cast' icon in the top right corner ... select your Nest hub device. The RadioApp app on the phone can be shutdown after several minutes and RadioApp keeps playing on the Nest device. Don't shut RadioApp app straight away, as that seems to disconnect the Nest device as well

Hope that helps in the short term.

Mine worked for oneday, my phone isnt recognising google today🙄.. hoping Mr google is actually fixing this

I've also found I can start 6PR with RadioApp on a Google mini device and then go into Media on my Google Home, which shows the audio is playing on the Google Mini, then tap on the device in the RadioApp window and then select the Google Home device, which then allows it to play across both devices.

This is the same for 2GB in Sydney. The issue seems to be with the same "family" of stations, 4BC, 2GB, 3AW and 6PR. It seems to be with the 2nd Generation Google NEST Smart HUB, my Google Home works fine. This happened in the last week or so. Any technical know how on how to fix? Google's dumb response is to reboot the device or it's an issue with RadioApp, aaaargh!

My Google nest will no longer play radio stations. If I say "Hey Google Play 6PR Perth' she says she is playing it via Radion App - Then Radio App displays but nothing plays.

Everything else works fine

Tried contacting Google but they just said they would look into it and since then I've heard nothing.

Same problem here in the UK. One of my Nest hub (2 gen) displays won't play greatest hits radio anymore. It says it's playing then defaults to the default Rayo app screen.  But the larger display downstairs still does. Maybe it's an upgrade anomaly?

Same problem in QLD. Ask Google to play a station and radioapp starts up but doesn't actually play the station. Tried restarting the router and nest but still no go. Even removed it from Google Home and re-added but it still doesn't work.

So pleased I'm not the only one then, I spoke to Google Sunday - like you guys' radio app starts but doesn't play the station - by the way I'm in Perth WA.

I am having the same issues, main unit plays ABC and Spotify no worries but wont connect to I Heart Radio app, tries making it default app but still no luck - it works fine on other devices in the house that are connected through the Google Home app.

Using the "hey Google play mix 94.5" I get the voice saying "playing mix on xx" but the app (black screen with red target looking thing) doesn't run.

Still streams to the hub using phone using TuneIn etc.

I also having the same issue, switched all my automated radio plays to use TuneIn for now.

Hi all - just got off the phone to Google and they acknowledge there is a problem and are trying to sort it with Radio App service provider - I also got an email from Radio App support, and they too acknowledge the issue - both parties are working on trying to resolve but who knows when.

same issue here with a Google Nest Hub, where TuneIn stopped working on April 18 for 3 radio stations I listen to.  Seems to still work fine for iHeartRadio, but they have a different selection of radio stations, of which I'm not interested in 😞
