Rain sounds

If I tell my Google mini to play rain sounds it will play a standard white noise.  Most of the time it will do this until I tell it to stop. But occasionally it will stop on its own.

If I then try and start it playing again from Google home on my phone it will play a Completely different audio track. This one has thunder and only lasts 3 hours.

As this is supposed to be playing in my toddler's room I really need the no thunder track to play. But unless I go into his room and say "ok google play rain sounds" I can't get it to work.

Also how can I get Google to stop then 10 minute long response to a Google home command?

Ie: "ok user playing rainsounds pure white noise on bedroom speaker."

Hi Boltonx,

Thanks for reaching out.

Appreciate all the info you've shared. Can you please try this command to see if it works; "Ok Google, play rain sounds". As soon as it plays, say "Ok Google, set sleep timer for X minutes".

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Sorry let me clarify.

When I talk to the speaker directly it plays lets call it "rain sound track A"

But if I open the app and tell google to play rain sounds on a specific speaker it plays "rain sound track B"

If there is a loss of connection the speaker does not pick back up and continue playing "rain sound track A".

My question is why when I make the exact same request are there two totally different tracks playing?

Also "rain sound track A" will typically play until told to stop but "rain sound track B" only has a run time of 4 hours then starts to play a very loud wake up track after it.

Hey Boltonx,

My apologies for the delays. Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. To confirm, are you hearing a different track or rain sound when you ask the Google Assistant on your phone to play it? I tried it on my end and was able to hear and play the same track. For the duration, for Google Home/Nest speakers the relaxing sound will continue to play for 12 hrs. unless you ask it to stop. You can try to reboot your device first and see if that makes any difference, or try using the keywords: "Hey Google, play rain sounds for <duration>."

Just to add, there might be a time that the Google Assistant on phone may play a different track because the Google Home/Nest speakers and Google Assistant on phone have different platforms and functionalities.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
