Random google account requesting to join my home

cjtheking214

Good morning,

I'm not sure where to post this as the last forum I saw referred me to this community. I have a Google Home account and system setup going. Some random Gmail account keeps trying to request to join my Google Home circle despite me declining the invite upwards of at least 10 times they are just not giving up. How can I block the Google account in question and prevent them from requesting to join my Google family.

There is no way to block the invites unfortunately. I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.

If you don't use this feature, you could create a rule that deletes these emails I guess. There are a few ways I'm aware of this can occur:

  • You're using a shared or open Wi-Fi network. This means your devices appear in their Google Home app as a "local device". This does not give them access to your devices, but means they can request access easily.
  • You've sold or given away one of your devices without resetting it first and the new owner hasn't reset it either to be able to set it up with their account.
