Reminders not broadcasting on speakers

When setting up reminders to broadcast  when the set time comes instead of saying 'has the dog been fed' it says 'sorry I don't understand'.   This is extremely frustrating as I am trying to set reminders for my husband for when I am at work as he has dementia and it isn't working....grrrrr

Thanks for your post. I am sorry to hear that your device is not responding or creating reminders. That is definitely a frustrating issue, and I understand your concern. I would be more than happy to help find a solution. First, I have some questions.

  • Which Google device is this post in regard to? (model name, generation number)
  • Is this a new issue? Were your reminders and broadcasting feature working before?
  • Are you trying to create a broadcast from another Google Home/Nest device or a mobile device?
  • Is your Google Assistant responding to other commands appropriately? (asking the time, weather, etc.)
  • Are your devices connected on the same WiFi network?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? If so, what have you attempted so far?

It is Google nest mini, which we use through the Google home app.  It responds fine to verbal commands to switch lights on and off etc. and in schedule it tells is the weather and daily schedule in the morning which we have set up  but when we put in a reminder at 7.00pm to broadcast such as 'has the dog been fed' it says sorry I don't understand.   It has never worked, I just haven't got around to doing anything about it.  I have tried deleting the scheduled reminder and Resetting a new one but the same thing happens.
 
Also the Google home app will not let me set up a room in my house.
