Shared Google Account Voice Problems

ckholt2010

Hello,

My wife and I share an account for very specific reasons, Keep Notes shopping lists, calendars, etc. Voice recognition forces us to use one person to update the list associated with that account. If we add a home member with a different email, it then requires you to add to those list items in the separate, not shared, account, but using the shared device. Adding a home member doesn't seem to work, unless the different member can influence the primary account where the Keep Notes list resides. Am I missing something? This seems to be all over chats and forums as an issue. This was one of the most valuable features for a family. Is there a workaround out there or a fix coming? I understand the importance of different voices being able to access different accounts or streaming apps, but there should be an option to allow multiple voices to update a shared shopping list in Keep Notes.

Thanks,

Craig

Hello @ckholt2010,

Thanks for posting in the community.
I appreciate the details you shared about the issue you're facing with your Google Home account and Keep Notes. I understand the frustration of encountering limitations in shared features.

To manage your shopping lists more effectively, you might consider:

  • Using the Keep Notes App Directly: Access and edit your shopping lists directly through the Keep Notes app on your devices.
  • Creating Separate Lists: If privacy is a concern, consider creating separate shopping lists for each family member.
  • Providing Feedback: Share your feedback with Google through the Google Home app or the Google Nest support website. Your input can help influence future updates and improvements.

In regards to the calendar, you should try:

  1. First of all, make sure Personal Results are turned on. This is required to get calendar information.
  2. Make sure the Google Home app is up-to-date.
  3. Force close and re-open the Google Home app, then wait for 30 seconds.
  4. Tap Settings>Google Assistant>Manage all Assistant settings>Calendar.
  • Please make sure the voice match is turned off so the voice recognition can work well.

Let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
