Sharing bluetooth audio with a Google Nest Speaker group

Hi there,

Can I make a feature enhancement request?

I would want to see that Google Nest Speakers in a group can play bluetooth audio that one of member speaker receives through the Bluetooth connectivity from a media source.

I want to play Youtube video on my phone or any Bluetooth-enabled device that is connected with a Google Nest Speaker via Bluetooth, then, this same Youtube audio can be streamed to all Google Nest Speakers in a speaker group of which the Bluetooth-receiving Google Nest speaker is a member.

If this can be done, I can listen to music or audio that is playing on my phone in any room in my house while I am moving aroud in my house.

The current features just allow me to linsten to music in any room while I am moving around only if the music is streamed from Cloud music streaming services. It does not allow me to listen music in any room if the music is coming from my phone or my local computer.

can I expect that Google will enhance the current feature?

Sonos has this feature and they call it as Shareing Bluetooth audio with Sonos System

Or, is this feature already available? if it is, please share a link to a web page.

thank you

Kind regards,

Hello HCC,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

While being able to play music in a speaker group via Bluetooth connection is a great feature, it is not supported on any of the Google Home and Nest speakers or displays. We're always looking for ways to improve — we'll take this as feedback. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

As an alternative, you can cast songs from music services like YouTube Music and Spotify using your phone or computer (on a Chrome browser). Below are some links that will be helpful to you.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Thank you for your suggestions.

I have returned all of Google Nest Speakers while keeping all Sonos speakers.

Although Sonos are pricy, there are a couple of things that I considered.

With Sonos, they are versatile. Wifi streaming from various online streaming services to group of speakers, Bluetooth streaming to a group of speakers, AirPlay streaming to a group of speakers. You can choose which speakers in the group to use as well.

Also, the app for controlling the speakers is independant of Sonos account so that you can use any device to control the entire speaker systems smoothly.
