Skipping songs and then stopping

This has been going on for a while now. Every time I open Spotify and connect to my google home through Spotify and hit shuffle on a playlist or try to play a song, it will skip 5+ songs and then play 10 seconds of a song and then stop playing through my speaker. I’ve tried reboot, deleting and re-downloading Spotify. My speaker sits about 10 feet away from my router. I’ve tried everything and nothing has fixed.

Sorry for the late response here. I know how it feels when you're having issues playing music on your Google Home/Nest device. I'd love to dig deeper into this. When did the issue start? What specific Google Home/Nest device do you have? Does the same thing happen when you cast songs from Spotify app to your speaker?

 

To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest device). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Hi, Thank you for the response. This has been going on well over a few months. I’ve tried just about everything. I have a gen 1 google home. The issue happens when I cast from Spotify to my google home. I know it is not a network issue at this point. I only get it to work when I go into my phones settings and manually connect my phone to speaker and then go back to Spotify and hit play.
