From last couple of months all my home speakers are frequently asnwering "Something went wrong". It is also misunderstanding my commands.
The assistant is not getting better but it is getting worse day by day. I am using Google assistant from long time, the service was better few years back.

Here is what I have discovered after trying all above fixes; right now it is only happening with playing Sirius, checked radio tab and says linked. I unlinked, logged back in to Siruis thru Google Home app and it works, only until we shut it down and try again, have to unlink and re link...... any ideas?

Hi Leafs64,
Thanks for the response. Which Nest speakers are we working on? You can factory data reset your Nest speakers to put them back to their default settings and set them up as a new device. Once done observe if it will make a difference. Check out the this article on how to do the reset.
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Juni

Hey folks,
Thanks for the update. To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.
@Leafs64: To confirm, are you pertaining to a Google Home Max?

Muddi

Hi Leafs64,
Thanks for the information. To confirm, have you tried setting up your device on a different network like mobile hotspot to check if you will have the same issue?
Kindly remove the serial number of your device because it's not allowed to share in public for security purposes.
Cheers,
Muddi

I have not tried that, not sure I will as it's becoming more of a hassle than it's worth. Edited the serial number, did not know it was against the rules

Hey Leafs64,
I totally understand that troubleshooting can be frustrating, but these are the most helpful steps to figure out what's going on with your device. Let's give them a try!

I know, can you please provide a link on how to set up the mobile hotspot?

Hi Leafs64,
Unfortunately, we don't have a link to share. Below are the steps on how to set up your speaker on a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home speaker).
Hope this helps.

Hello,
This turn out to be IP V6 issue for me. I turned off IP V6 on my router and the "Something went wrong" is no more there.
But the second issue still persists. It does not recognize/understand the command or what we are asking. It was great few months back (e.g. 6 months back) but now it's getting worse and worse.

Hey shaikhafsar,
Thanks for the update. Could you share with us the specific command that you are using? Also, please check "My Activity" on the Google Home app to see if your device was able to get the right command. If there's a recording, check if you can hear a static sound.
Follow the steps below to access Google Assistant activity history:
Keep us posted.

Muddi
