Sorry something went wrong... again

This is actually happening on all my Nest devices. I have 2 Home Hubs upstairs. A Nest Hub Max, two Nest Audios. Whenever we try to play audio to any of the devices by promoting "Hey Google, play 'any artist' on YouTube music" it says Okay playing ' artist name's then we either get a message 'an error occurred' or we get a spoken prompt "something went wrong try again" this just started happening about a week ago. I see older posts from 2022 where there was some type of outage? Is that the case here? My account info is correct, subscriptions are current and paid up. Logged into the correct accounts on all devices. I can't even manually cast.

this might be the same thing as others (and myself) are reporting when it tries to use the radio app, have had it happen before but last few days its every time now.. curious if its fixable with software.

Yes, my wife says she wasn't able to use the radio app anymore. That issue started about a week ago as well.

Hi folks!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble playing YouTube Music on your Home Hubs, Google Nest Hub Max, and two Nest Audio using voice commands and are receiving 'an error occurred' or 'something went wrong' messages. I understand this started about a week ago and that manual casting is also affected. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • When you say "Home Hubs," which speaker or display model are you referring to? Here's an article that will help you identify them:
  • Do you have the Google Home app updated?
  • Could you provide me with the firmware version of your devices? Here is an article that helps you verify:
  • Does the problem occur with other apps as well or only with YouTube Music?
  • What radio service are you using?
  • Does the problem occur with several radio stations or just one in particular?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi

  • For me this is the Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen)
  • There is no way to update this device (but its online so I assume its up to date)
  • Chromecast Firmware: 3.76.463359
  • Software Version: 66.68.11.7313350
  • Fuchsia Version: 26.20250116.103.2201

I get a range of issues, either the Radio App just sits on the start screen and wont stream music, or it will give the 'Something went wrong' error, the Radio app is the default app and the most useful to me, I can get some stations working on TuneIn (sometimes still hangs on the start screen of the app), even tried I Heart Radio but that didnt have any stations I was after. Spotify appears fine though I dont use it for that.

There are other threads experiencing something similar such as this one:

Pretty much every 2nd post is about this topic, its multiple apps, and its world-wide.

Hi @Adsonest!

Thank you for the details provided. I would like to perform troubleshooting steps to try to isolate the problem and obtain some additional details.

1. Speaker Group Check:

  • Is the display part of a speaker group that includes a display or 3P (third-party) speaker? If yes, remove the 3P speaker or device from the group. Then try to play the radio station.

2. Turn on ‘Device Reports’:

  • Ensure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same WiFi and linked to the same account as your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen.)
  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Touch and hold your device’s tile.
  • Tap Settings > Recognition & sharing (top-right corner).
  • Turn on: Send [device model] device usage and crash reports to Google (e.g., Send Google Home device usage and crash reports to Google)

3. Send feedback from your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen):

  • Say "Ok Google" or "Hey Google", then:
  • “Send feedback”
  • Include the keyword: “GHT3 unable to stream <name of the radio station> from <name of the radio service that you are using> ” (e.g., GHT3 unable to stream RTE radio station from TuneIn).

Additional details:

  • Does the issue occur only when playing live radio stations?
  • What happens during other activities, like playing music?
  • Can you manually cast the radio station from the app to the display?
  • Have you tried using a different mobile device to unlink and relink the radio service app?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Geremi
