Speaker Groups Stutter

Feasoron
Community Member

It just happens from time to time, every speak (about a dozen) in my home will stutter. Speed tests show 200mps wifi, a signal tester shows a strong signal for every device, and changing services doesn't help. SOMETIMES rebooting every google device, the router and the modem might help, but this takes 15 minutes or more and is unreliable. Changing to a smaller group of speakers doesn't work either.  The devices include 1st and 2nd gen Home Minis, Nest Audios, Chromecast Audio, Nest Hubs, Nest Hub Max.

Hey Feasoron,

Sorry for the delays. I know how challenging it can be when you're having issues playing music on your audio group. Let's get to the bottom of this - when did the issue start? What is the make and model of your router? How far are the speakers from the router? Do you have the same issue when casting music to your speaker group? Are you using a dual-band router?

Please try setting up at least 2-3 speakers on a different network like mobile hotspot to further isolate the issue. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your speakers). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Cheers,

Muddi
