Speaker group not working

I can create a speaker group but it will not work. I have un grouped them and deleted my speaker group multiple times I tell hub max to play music on the named group and she says ok playing on the named group and it will not so I try doing it manually on my hub max and it still doesn’t work. So frustrating. And I am still really mad about the removal of my cookbook. I have a camera that will not charge. I’m thinking of changing Google home to Alexa

Hi downinkj1,

Thank you for posting in the community! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having inconveniences with the speaker group, even when you tried manually playing on the Nest Hub Max. Help’s here!

I also appreciate the workarounds already performed. To better assist you with the speaker group, I’d like to ask the following:

  • How many speakers and displays do you have added into the speaker group, and what are they?
  • Is this the first time you are experiencing this situation?
  • Has the speaker group previously worked as expected?

In the meantime, I’d suggest the following steps:

  • Make sure your mobile device software and Google services are running the latest versions.
  • Verify the firmware version of your Nest speakers and displays. Refer to this article for details: Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes. For speakers, check that you have the firmware version 3.73 or above. This should allow you to set up speaker groups for the following device types: Nest Audio, Nest Mini, Google Home Mini, Google Home.
  • If the inconvenience persists, please remove any devices not listed above, then test again. If possible, try creating the speaker group with a different mobile device or tablet. For reference, you can check out this article: Create and manage speaker groups in the Google Home app.

Regarding the removal of the cookbook, I understand that this is a helpful feature, and we hope to make it available again in the future. In the meantime, I deeply appreciate you sharing your feedback to help us continue improving our products and experiences for everyone.

Additionally, if you're still experiencing inconveniences with the camera after we troubleshoot the speaker group, we can continue troubleshooting the Nest Camera.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
