When I ask questions using "Hey Google" the replies I get are very low volume despite the volume being set at max 10 and pressing the volume up button on the device all the way. The music and videos play at VERY LOUD volume but I can barely hear the responses I get from the Google Assistant.

Hi DanPH77,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand that the Google Assistant has low volume, but the music and videos are fine.
I'm happy to assist you! I recommend that you try rebooting your Google speaker or display. To do this, please visit Reboot Google Home. There you will find the correct steps.
Let me know if this helps!

I want the Google Assistant volume to be louder but the device volume is already 100% max.

Google Hub Max latest version. Made in 2022 per the box. Bought in December straight from Google.

Why would enabling share device usage data and crash reports have anything to do with that? The toggle on simple sends that data to Google and if toggle off it doesnt.
There is no setting that says adaptive volume listed under settings.

Hi DanPH77,
Thanks for trying. You don't need to activate "Send Nest Hub Max device usage data and crash reports to Google."
Following the steps in the last post, you will see the following options:
Check if the option is active. If it is, turn it off.
I will be awaiting your response.
