Speakers not waking up on "ok Google" since latest update unless you yell at them.

All of my speakers (1 home 1stgen and 3 minis) are not waking up when you say "ok Google" or "hey Google" at a normal volume.  If we yell it then it will finally respond.

This seems to have started about a week ago. The speakers are on version 2.57.375114

I also have two Nest Hubs and both of them are working as normal.

Restarting the devices doesn't seem to help either.

Could this be an issue with the latest version release?

I have the same problem with Google Home Mini. It is not responding until I get close to them and yell. Setting the sensivity at +1 works but somehow then only that specific device answer, even if I am in other room.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your Google Nest speakers. Since this is not isolated only on one speaker, could you please list down all the speakers that you're having issues with together with its cast firmware version?

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX"

Check the version on your Nest display

  1.  Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings and then About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."
    • For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.

Lastly, performing a factory reset on one of your speakers might help. Here's how: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Hello,

I already gave my version number on my post for the speakers not working.

I tried updating the sensitivity to +2 and now it seems to work like it was before.  However, we shouldn't have to set them to be so sensitive where before I could put it at -1 and it would behavior like it is now on +2.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the information. To further isolate the issue, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one to serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Home Mini). Let's see if your device will have the same behavior.

Cheers,

Muddi

Same here - 3 minis, all on version 375114, completely ignore "hey google" prompt. All of them worked just fine a couple of days back, can't tell when exactly current behavior started.
