Speech recognition software problem on various devices

The lag is about 30 seconds on my Max. So it’s having trouble referencing my voice. Or the quick ref has been disabled. G might have done that if - someone has worked out how to compromise security.
I just wish on their ‘thread’ and with so many similar incidents G would explain.
1. What is causing it
2. They have a plan to fix it
3. When might this happen.
Just like if you had a problem with your car.

Hello Pickinboy,

Thanks for reaching out! I am sorry to hear that your devices are encountering speech recognition issues. I understand your concern and would be more than happy to help find a solution. First, I have some quick questions to get a better understanding of the situation.

  • Which devices are encountering this issue? Could you please list all of them? (model name, generation number)
    • Your title says 'various devices', but your post only refers to the Google Nest Hub Max, so I want to make sure how many/which devices are encountering this issue.
  • Just to confirm, when you say "Hey Google", it responds to you 30 seconds later? Is that the issue?
  • Are you receiving any error messages from your device(s)? If so, what does it say?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried on your device?

I appreciate your patience and look forward to your response. Let's get this issue resolved!

It’s the smaller Google ‘Home’ speaker as well as the ‘Max’. Both keep saying ‘there is a glitch’ or ‘somrthing went wrong’. After a few seconds both recognise my voice. Is there a fix?

It’s gone very quiet.

Hi Pickinboy,

Thanks for your patience. Let's try some troubleshooting steps first.

  • Could you try to reboot your router?
  • Could you try to reboot both of your affected devices?

I look forward to your response, thanks for your patience!

Good luck to Google.

I have rebooted the two main devices. A Google Home and a Google Max. I’m so incredibly happy I did not entrust my home security to such a flawed system.

We have lights and sockets that are no longer responding. ‘There was an issue’ no longer cuts it. If you plan to use Google Home. Keep it lower level until they fix these major issues. GJ

If anyone finds this post. Also look it up on Reddit. Apparently a mid August update caused this. My guess it’s security related. However, Google should acknowledge there is an issue. Unless of course Google Home is getting phased out and it’s part of a plan.
