Spotify issues with nest mini -

hello 

 

spotify is not working on my nest mini smart speaker 

every time I say “ hey google play Spotify” 

it says sorry something went wrong by try again in a few seconds 

and then randomly 5 mins later it would play 

but then it will lag and stop all by itself 

I tried to factory reset 

I tried to unlink Spotify and relink it 

any ideas ?

I understand that you have been experiencing some issues with your Nest Mini Speaker not playing Spotify when you ask it to, and that you're receiving an error message about "sorry, something went wrong, please try again in a few seconds." I appreciate your efforts in trying some troubleshooting steps already! Let me help you with this.

For this situation, I just want to know if your speaker is a first or second-generation device. In the meantime, please follow the steps below and let me know how it goes: 

  • Reboot your Google Nest Mini Speaker.
    • As you mentioned you already tried a factory reset, please note that a factory reset and a reboot are two different processes. To reboot your device, you just need to disconnect it for 10 seconds and then plug it back in again.
  • Reboot your Wi-Fi network.
    • While your speaker is rebooting, please disconnect your router for one minute and then connect it back again.
  • Check for any devices that may cause interference.
    • If there are nearby devices that may cause interference, such as microwave ovens, wireless speakers, baby monitors, Wi-Fi routers, and other devices using the 2.4 GHz band, try moving your speaker or display to a different room.
  • Move your Nest Mini Speaker to the same room as your router.
