Spotify playing at wrong speed on Home mini

I have used Spotify on my mini for years with no issues, and today suddenly it has started playing songs at the wrong speed when I cast from my phone, all the songs sound distorted. 

I have tried unlinking Spotify from my Google home then relinking it, I have also tried disconnecting my Google home for an hour and then plugging it back in,.

Spotify playback is fine when played on my phone, and when plays on the Chrome cast on the TV. So the issue appears to be with the mini. 

Please can someone help?

We appreciate your efforts. I know how it feels when something isn’t working the way it should. Let’s further look into it.

 

Try to cast Spotify music from your phone to your Google Home Mini device. Does it sound distorted as well? Do a factory reset on your Google Home Mini device. It will set your device back to its default settings, so you need to do the setup again. Let me know how it goes.
