Spotify stops after 3 seconds. Skips constantly

For the last 6-7 months now Spotify will skip multiple songs or only play 3 seconds and stop. In the Spotify app I can see songs constantly swiping right by itself. I’ve reset google home. I’ve deleted and downloaded Spotify and Google home apps, I’ve reset my router. And they are all 5 feet from it. It’s becoming annoying. I’ve gone through the forums and tried everything 4 times. Even contacting Spotify and using their “special account” but nothing has changed.

Hello intheric,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

My apologies for the delayed response. I know how relaxing it is to be able to listen to your favorite music on your Google Home device. Let's dig deeper into this issue.

  • What is the make and model of your router?
  • Does it happen while playing music on an audio group or an individual device?
  • Do you experience the same issue when playing music from the native app?

To further isolate the issue, let's go ahead and set up one of your devices on a different network, like a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other will be used to set up your Google Home device). Let's see if your speaker has the same behavior.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Be spent the last 2 hours with Spotify and they can’t figure it out.

it’s a Verizon router. Actiontec MI424WR

It’s individual and only happens when connected to google home.

I don’t have access to other devices so can’t do the hotspot.

Hi there,

Got it! Let's go ahead and try changing the channel settings on your router to 1, 11, or 6. This will help us improve the signal on your wireless network. You might need to contact your network provider if you're not familiar with the settings of your router.

Cheers,

Muddi

Ok. I’ll try this. I tried logging in using the credentials on the router by the aren't working and now I have to wait.
