Spotify stops playing/changes podcast episodes in the middle of the night

Ellolove

I play an 8 hour podcast episode of white noise to help me sleep with my insomnia, but for some reason I never wake up to the episode past 2 hours.

I have been using the Spotify App and selecting my room speaker as the output device. Instead of playing the full 8 hours, only about 2 hours play, and I recently woke up to a completely different episode playing even though the rain episode was at the 3hr mark.

I tried putting one episode on its own playlist, but then it will stop after some time, even after setting a sleep timer. If I play the episode from the podcast page, I wake up to the different episode. Currently I have a mini-playlist with similar sounds lined up in case the episodes change, but it will still stop before the sleep timer is up.

Hi Ellolove,

Thanks for reaching out.

We're sorry to hear about this experience. Let's sort this out by answering these questions:

  • What command do you use when you ask the Google Nest speakers to play podcast?
  • When did you notice these changes?
  • Does it also happen when you play a different content/podcast?

We'd love to know more of it so we can try some steps.

Best,

Princess

Hi everyone,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,
