Stolen Music Frustrations

I was doing a workout on my trainer bike and listening to Spotify on my headphones connected by Bluetooth.

Suddenly my music stopped. I hit play again and it resumed but then stopped.

I messaged wife (I'm mid workout at this point) and she had stolen my Spotify by asking for music on our Home speaker (which has my Spotify linked).  She immediately switched to radio.

This should have freed up my Spotify but every time I hit play I would get 10 seconds of music then stop.

I did the following to no avail:

Closed and reopened Spotify

Disconnected BT and reconnected 

Opened Home and stopped casting to the Home speaker

Rebooted the Home speaker.

None gave me my music back.

I was playing a downloaded playlist so when I disconnected WiFi I was able to play music.

Why was I never t able to recover my Spotify connection from Home?

I should add that I was using my Oppo android phone for both music and the interval training on my bike so restarting the phone would have disrupted my training.

The training is hard work and, for me, the music makes it bearable.
