Stop Nest Hub from playing video with YouTube Music

When I tell my Nest Hub to play music with YouTube Music, if a music video is associated with it, it will automatically play said music video will play on the screen. I want to disable this. I’ve gone into the YouTube Music settings and disabled the “Play Music Video” setting but it only appears to apply to the app. I’ve restricted YouTube videos from playing in the nest hub settings but that only appears to apply to the YouTube app in the Hub. How can I get music videos to stop playing when I’m playing music? I just signed up for YT music yesterday and I just want music to play without videos as it has my kids glued to the screen and there should be a simple option to just turn this off when we listen to music as we did with Spotify.

firmware version of the hub is 11.20230306.3.134

Hi Marcbills,

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you and thank you for providing the firmware version of your Nest Hub! Let’s try these steps:

  • Make sure YouTube Music is set as default on your Google Home app.
  • Give the voice command “Hey, Google! Play music from YouTube Music”.

Same. I don't want music videos! This toggle exists in the android app, why not on the hub?

Hey Cha_Dude,

Chiming in, that option is not available on the Nest Hub. To confirm, have you tried the steps provided by @Dan_A?
