Hi There,
I have a google home in the living room and I would also like one in the bedroom. The goal is that we can play music via YouTube Music (we have a subscription for this) and that the music will automatically stop after 30 minutes, for example.
I tested this with the speaker in the living room, but it doesn't work (properly). If I set a sleep timer or "timer" it does turn off after the desired time but then an alarm goes on (alarm clock I think). This is not what we want. The music should stop without sounding an alarm.
If we give the command "stop after X minutes" it says that the google home speaker will stop playing after X minutes. However, he continues to play happily while the desired time has elapsed.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Unfortunately timer delays such as this stopped working on all google nest devices weeks ago, possibly after the recent firmware update. It has been reported hundreds of times, many threads about it, and Google say they are aware and a fix is awaited in the future at some date.
The nearest thing that can be done is not a solution so not perfect but a kind of temporary workaround as follows.
Create a Routine on the Google Home app with a single action command of 'Stop Playing'. Additionally create a starter on the routine for when you want the routine to action of a set time of day, e.g. for instance at 23:00 or of course whatever time would be more suitable. Then the music or sleep sounds will stop when the routine activates at that set time every day or night. Not perfect but the best you can do until this very annoying bug is fixed.

Hi folks,
@Kadven, thanks for the help.
@knorde, our team is aware about timers/sleep timers that aren’t working for turning off music at the specified time and are still working on a fix. For news and updates about sleep timers, keep an eye on the recommended answer on the main thread. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to start a new one for I will be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Best,
Dan
