Streaming SiriusXM syntax between Google devices and Android phone controlling Google Nest & Mini

Having issues for several months now.   I have a Google Nest Hub (display) and a Google Home Mini.   I also have two Google Chromecast Audio devices that go into my Home Entertainment systems (one for whole house and second for garage workshop area).    The issue I notice is I can no longer use my phone to start streaming my SiriusXM account that I have setup (linked) in my Google Home app (verbally talking into the devices).  I use to use the same syntax on the phone that I used (and still use) on the Nest Hub and the Mini.   The syntax is "Hey google, Stream the xxxx channel from SiriusXM Radio on my speakers" where "xxxx" is whatever channel I want to listen to.

The phone's android based AI will not do the verbal commands to initiate the streaming.  So it says.

I have tried in using  the Home App and typing manually a different syntax into the phone's Home App where is has "Ask Nest". That syntax is "Start  playing SiriusXM radio, the xxxx channel, on my speakers".   It does start streaming but, unfortunately, it only plays on the internal speaker of the Nest Hub and not my speaker group.

Hello @TMack1

Thank you for posting in this community. I understand you have a Google Nest Hub, a Google Home Mini, and two Chromecast Audios connected to your home entertainment system, but you’re having trouble playing SiriusXM on your speaker group. You’ve noticed that you can no longer use your phone to start streaming from your linked SiriusXM account. Even when using the correct voice syntax or typing commands into the Google Home app, the stream won't initiate on the group; it only plays through the Nest Hub's internal speaker.

I appreciate the time and effort you took to complete the troubleshooting steps described in the post. To expedite the assistance, let’s check some workarounds:

Keep me posted on how it goes.

Best regards,

Hello Daniel.     Yes,  the Phone and Home devices are now under Gemini.   And, the Home App on my phone is also on Gemini.  The voice used changed on each device.

Since the syntax, on the Nest devices, to start streaming works fine, and not via the Android phone & tablet,  I believe it is a coding issue on the phone/tablet Gemini app and how it interacts with the Google Home APP.  I do find it interesting that to do anything to change things on the Nest Devices, you have to use you phone/tablet Home APP.   That includes linking SiriusXM, which currently  in the Home APP, is showing as my premium radio service and subscription active.  And, the APP shows Android 6.0 as a minimum.  Well, both my phone and tablet are at Android 16.

Next, here it the text that shows when asking the phone to stream/start/play Sirius XM radio, using any combination of syntax.  I do have a screen capture but this website doesn't have agility to upload pictures.

(gemini icon) Sirius XM casting Not Sup...

I cannot directly cast the Highway channel from Sirius XM radio to your speakers, My capabilities do not extend to controlling specific radio channels from external services like Sirius XM.

You my be able to cast this channel if you use the Sirius XM app or website on a device that supports casting to your speakers.

Additional comment.  My phone use to be able to stop streaming even though it could not initiate it. Now it will not stop the streaming.
