There was a glitch, something went wrong

This just started happening a few days ago. I ask my Google mini a question and it says "Hmmm something went wrong" or "there was a glitch, please try again in a few minutes" I removed the device from the Google Home app and re set it up. It was working fine the first 2-3 questions I asked, but then it went back to doing the same thing again. What is the problem here?

I have the same issue and it started a few days ago. It’s spread to 3 different devices in different rooms, all smart speakers. So far the Best hub devices I have are still responding. I followed all troubleshooting steps, unplug, reboot, reset etc and nothing fixed it. Nothing on my home network has changed and all these Nest speakers have never had problems for years.

I am experiencing the same problem. Began a few days ago. It appears to be related to the most recent firmware update. My speakers were on an older firmware that were working fine compared to the ones on the newest firmware and now all of them are on the newest firmware and now I have six speakers that will not talk to me

Sorry to hear you are having this problem also. Im up to five devices not working now. The Nest hubs are still fine. I turned off IPV6 today and still not working. I suspect Google will eventually tell us older devices are no longer supported. They did it to me with the Nest alarm system which I spent lots of $ on and it’s a brick now. Ironically Google gave me store credit which I used to buy Nest speakers that are now bricks too.

UPDATE - my Bose smart speaker is still working fine and Google assistant has no issues on that device. So it’s limited to Google Nest and Home brand speakers. Definitely an issue with something Google pushed.

It is really frustrating. Causing chaos in the house. We were so accustomed to getting the Google assistant to turn on all of our smart devices

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately this is just a help forum and we're limited in the answers we can provide. However, you can get a hold of our support team by filling out this form and they can take a deeper look at your specific situation.

Please keep in mind that the form needs to be filled out completely in order to provide you with better support.

Best regards,

Mario.

Surely there is a better way to get  help. This is something affecting so many customers with the same problem. When I contact them using that form they try to give me specific help asking me to do exactly what has already been done by so many of us and as you know it has not made a difference.

How can we get this escalated to a higher level?

Agree 100%. Several of the same type of Google products stop working all at once and there is no urgency in helping the customers. I’m weighing if having Google in my home is worth it anymore. The company forced me to get rid of my Nest alarm system which was working fine until they decided to partner with ADT. Now my nest and google branded smart speakers don’t work but the Bose one with Google assistant is still fine. Also, the fact that to turn off assistant on speakers I now have glowing orange lights that can’t be disabled is concerning. This screams to me - “we need to be listening in all the time or we will annoy you with orange lights”.
