@Shaun67

Are you in an unusual timezone? Google Nest uses some sort of Google Maps database to assign timezones worldwide, and there are numerous posts in this forum from people who live close to the edge of a timezone or in a timezone that has changed, where Google has assigned an incorrect timezone, and they can't even get Google Nest to acknowledge the problem.

Hi Shaun67,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, see this helpful guide on how to check and change your home and work locations.

Keep me posted.

Thanks for the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Dan

Hey, with all due respect, this reply is absolutely useless.   By now everyone knows the Mexican governement has cancelled DST for most of the country.  Thus there are no time changes in mostly all of Mexico.  Many Google devices have changed the time they display or they speak, so, advising to  unplug, wait 3 minutes, reboot.., is frankly NOT understading the issue and providing a dumb answer that serves nothing.   Please, please: as a community specialist READ and UNDERSTAND the issue presented;  Many, many Google devices located all across Mexico are experiencing this issue.  IT is a Google problem, that has to be solved somehow by Google (probably by fixing the time zones tables and databases).

Hi! Until 2 nights ago, the time was accurate on my Nest Hub. Suddenly, it changed. Ive been staying in Mexico where they no longer observe Daylight Savings Time. So i remain in Central Time but not central daylight time.  Essentially, the correct time matches Mountain time.It has been fine and accurate until Saturday evening. Now its 1 hour ahead which is useless to me. Ive done all the potential fixes in the forum- removed old gime, rebooted, reinstalled, confirmed my address, etc. nothing works

 any ideas?

Same exact issue, in Mexico too.

I'm having the same issue on a Chromecast in Mexico City, time zone is set as Mexico City and the time is one hour ahead where it should be since this Sunday, April 2nd 2023. It was fine before that.

Come on Google,  all displays in Mexico have this problem, fix it!

Also in Mexico and the fed gov eliminated DST last fall, you still haven't corrected the issue Google, what gives?

With this many reports, it's ridiculous that it hasn't been managed. My location is set to Mexico in Home, so the code shouldn't be that complicated to alter - one would think! For now, I've removed the clock from the hub screen and defaulted to weather only and photo display. Ridiculous tho, I use it as my clock!

I guess your team is still working on this simple 1 hour problem..... Ugh

Hi Toma576 in Mexico city the issue has been resolved.

jmarcosa

Hey Toma576. The issue has been resolved for Mexico City.

It has been resolved for Google Hubs / Nest hubs.... BUT  It has NOT been resolved for any Chromecast or Google TV device located in Mexico City or anywhere in Mexico.  Several reboots have been attempted already with the Chromecast and Google TV devices to no avail, last one today.

If settings are set to automatically update the time from the network, it sets the device one hour ahead of the correct actual time.   So, it has not been solved already.

This is on April 24th 2023.

I am in central Mexico and my Google TV just started giving me error messages trying to connect to YouTube that there was no network connection, BUT other services could connect with no problem! I tried a bunch of stuff, reinstalled YouTube, deleted my wifi connection/added it back, and some other things. Then it dawned on me to check the time setting, as  I had set it manually to be correct (it was ahead one hour after DST change) and now since Google "fixed it" it wouldn't let me connect to YouTube and a couple of other services. The error message really threw me off as it had nothing to do with any network issue locally, perhaps it has something to do with Google's use of "network time" but I wish the error message would have been more helpful.
For anyone else with the same problem, in central Mexico I set my time zone to Mexico City, which works (for now?) I can connect to all my services and the time is correct.

Yes, agreed. I had the same problem. Google TV and Google Chromecasts started giving me strange error messages, related to network connectivity most of them. Un til it ocurred to me to set the TIME manually,  I did so, rebooted and everything was corrected.

As of now, the setting of automatic getting the time from the network is NOT solved on Chromecasts and Google TV.

Google maps still showing wrong arrival time!!!

The same problem at cairo Egypt

the time zone changed today +1 hour

and my lenovo smart clock didn’t changed

There's still no fix for the people in the USA. It's been months of the wrong time and more people keep commenting on this thread with the same issue. This is incredibly frustrating.

The same problem any update over this issue ??

Same problem in my corner of Indiana.  I'm in Central time, but all of my devices show Eastern time. It's infuriating I can't change my device time.

Mexico stopped using daylight saving time this year. April 2 is when the time change would have been. No device changed the time, except Google Nest Hub.

Google Nest hubs display the wrong time, as if they were in DST, however when asking with voice "ok google" they respond with the correct time. There is no way to configure it.

I contacted Google support and they made me do a very long troubleshooting, restarting my modem, creating a new house in google home, and changing my address, at the end, they told me that they would escalate the problem and asked me to reboot my nest hub an hour later. It's been days and it still doesn't work.

I have to subtract an hour in my mind, and I fear getting used to it, if one day they suddenly correct it, it could confuse me.

Perhaps the most sensible thing to do is to disable the time and remove another function so that it slowly becomes useless.

There is currently no solution for this, Chihuahua MX has had the wrong time since they passed the new time zone legislation in October.

I'm having the same problem. The address is correct in my Home app settings. Sunday the time on all my Nest displays sprang ahead by an hour even though (a) there's no DST here and (b) it's the wrong weekend to spring ahead anyway. When I ask the display for the current time, it replies correctly: one hour behind the time displayed on the screen. I've set the address of my Home to be a random address one time zone to the west so that the display will at least show the correct current time, but that is not ideal.

Hey rickmla,

Sorry to hear that. Just an added questions: what country are you located in? Which specific Nest display do you have (1st, 2nd, Nest Hub Max)? Also, what is the firmware version?

Cheers,

Muddi

Mexico. Seeing more and more posts from people in Mexico who had their displays spring forward on Sunday even though DST was cancelled in Mexico.

4 hubs gen 2 - firmware 324896 cast 1.56.324896

1 hub max - firmware 9.20221010.3.176 cast 1.67.330920

Hey folks,

Thanks for the information @rickmla. We receive an update from the team that they are now looking into this issue wherein the Google Nest displays shows incorrect time even though the Assistant will respond with the correct time.

Please send feedback on your Nest display, and use the keywords: "GHT3  Incorrect time in Mexico" Make sure to turn on device usage and crash reports on your device before sending feedback. Follow the steps below or visit this link to know more:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right corner of the screen, tap Settings > Recognition & sharing.
  5. Turn on Send [device model] device usage and crash reports to Google. (Example: Send Google Home device usage and crash reports to Google.)

Let us know once done.

Cheers,

Muddi

Done. Also sent GHT3 feedback at the request of Nest Support. Clocks are still wrong today.

Last year, Mexico's government decided to eliminate the summer daylight saving time for Mexico city (where I'm from), and almost every state.

It seems that the service or company that provides time and timezones to Google devices wasn't informed so now all my devices are displaying the wrong time. (1 hour difference)

I feel like it would be more helpful to report this to the company that provides timezones. Does anyone know the name or how can I contact them?

Any other idea would be helpful

Thank you in advance

Hi @LovelyM

Don't get me wrong but I don't think it should be that hard to fix this issue. I bet there are tens of thousands of devices here in Mexico that have the same problem. Is there an estimated on when it will get fixed?

Hello team,

I am from Mexico and this year our country didn't use daylight savings time so my nest hub is showing the incorrect hour, could you please advise if your team is working to resolve this issue? I am not able to change it manually from the hub configuration.

same problem, any updates?

The same problem any update over this issue ??
