Time zone incorrect on nest mini

As the previous thread seems to have been locked, without a solution (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Time-zone-incorrect-on-nest-mini-I-can-...)

Live close to the border of NSW/QLD (Australia), and have 2x nest minis. One is a Gen2 Aussie version, the other is a Gen1 International. The one that seems to mostly have an issue, is the Aussie one...

They generally do not agree on the time, as NSW do daylight saving, QLd, don't. They hang off the same WiFi, are in the same "Home" etc. Have hard reset both, and they often work OK for half a day, or so, then one drifts off to the other timezone. ie can say "what is the time", one will come back with 8:30, other will come back with 9:30.

Hence, can't be reliably used as an alarm etc, and is just generally VERY annoying.

Anyone else had this and come up with a solution?"

On previous threads, Google Nest Community Specialists @Muddi , @Jake , @Jeff , @Princesss , and @Jhonleanmel have also commented, but as best as I can tell, no one from Google Nest has yet to acknowledge this problem exists.

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I appreciate your response @MplsCustomer.

 

I know how important it is to have a correct timezone on the Nest Mini. Let's try to get to the bottom of this.

 

A few questions:

 

  • When did the issue start?
  • Have you tried updating the device address on the Google Home app?
  • Do you have the same issue on the Google Assistant app on your phone?
  • What is the firmware version of your speakers?

Yeah, sorry I didn't reply, but getting a bit weary of answering the SAME QUESTIONS, over and over. You can go back through several threads, and all of your questions are answered.

I know that firmware gets updated, etc, and I ensure that this happens when available, but at this point, the issue has NOT been resolved.

PLEASE!!!! Do NOT lock the thread - the issue is NOT solved, and the way it has gone in the past, WILL NOT be SOLVED, for a while yet.

Keep it open and allow input from others.

Can't understand why threads are closed, when the issue has NOT been solved??

Unfortunately, daylight saving finished beginning of April, so not sure how to check this, at the moment....

Any ideas how I can do this?

You can check the correct time through your personal watch or by asking your Nest speakers the time or weather to see if it gives the correct answer.

Ummmm, this issue is all about DAYLIGHT SAVING.

Currently there is NO daylight saving within a thousand km, so don't see how I can test, when EVERYTHING is in the same timezone....?

ie I don't currently have an issue, as daylight saving is not back in effect until about October.

If I can otherwise test it, please tell me how...

Although I have received emails from the Customer Care Team, saying the issue is resolved, as there is currently not a problem (HELLO!!! Daylight saving is now not in effect, so obviously there WON'T be a problem!) this issue HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED!!
